(April 2017):<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Legislation Change<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

1st<\/sup> April 2017<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nNational Living Wage is set to rise from \u00a37.20 to \u00a37.50 per hour for staff aged 25 and over. <\/span><\/p>\n

National Minimum Wage rates are also set to rise:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 21 to 24 years: from \u00a36.95 to \u00a37.05\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u2022 18 to 20 years: from \u00a35.55 to \u00a35.60\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Under 18: from \u00a34.00 to \u00a34.05\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Apprentice: from \u00a33.40 to \u00a33.50 <\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

2nd<\/sup> April 2017<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nStatutory maternity and paternity pay, adoption and shared parental pay rises to \u00a3140.98 a week or 90% of the employee\u2019s average weekly earnings, whichever is lower. <\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
6th<\/sup> April 2017<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nStatutory Sick Pay is set to go up from \u00a388.45 to \u00a389.35.\u00a0 <\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
6th<\/sup> April 2017<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nApprenticeship levy due to take effect on 6th April. The levy requires all employers operating in the UK, with a pay bill over \u00a33 million each year to invest in apprenticeships. <\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
6th<\/sup> April 2017<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nA week’s pay (for redundancy and unfair dismissal basic award calculations) rises from \u00a3479 to \u00a3489.\u00a0 <\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
April 2017<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nEmployers sponsoring foreign workers with a tier 2 visa will be expected to pay an immigration skills charge of \u00a31000 per worker (\u00a3364 for small employers and charities).<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
In Addition<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\nGeneral Data Protection Regulations compliance \u2013 employers are advised to carry out an audit of employee personal data that they collect and process to ensure it meets GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) conditions of employee consent.\u00a0 Although this piece of legislation won\u2019t be updated until 2018, employers need to prepare for this in 2017.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
